It's been: A day full of good advice

Hi!  So I went to lunch today with two new moms, one has a four month old, the other a two month old.  Little did they know this was going to be a baby Q and A....they were so great about it and I wrote down the advice so I could share with any of you new moms to be.  First piece of advice: car seat.  They said the Graco Snug Ride is the best.  However, just get the 'regular' size, not the 32 or 35 size.  The numbers 32 and 35 are regarding the size of the baby in pounds.  Are you really going to be carrying a 35 pound baby in a car seat...I think not unless you have large muscles!  So the regular size is perfect for a newborn all the way to twenty something pounds-its easiest to tote.  Second piece of advice: high chair.  They said the best high chairs are the 'portable high chairs'.  You can set a high chair in a regular chair, strap it to it!  Its easy to travel with, easy to clean and easy to store.  They said Graco again has the best chair.  Third piece of advice: Chair.  One of the girls swears by the Bobby lounger.  She said her little boy sleeps in there all the time, its easy to transport and he just chills in there while she showers, she feeds him in it, etc.  Fourth piece of advice: registering.  They said that babies r us will give you a 15% off card for after you have the baby to purchase anything on your registry that was not purchased for you. However, one thing they don't tell you is that you can only use this on things you have registered for within six weeks of your childs birth.  So...register for as much stuff as you can, and after your baby showers, register for things that you may not have wanted to show on your registry so that you can go back and get 15% off of those items.  OK, well thats all I got folks, hopefully that helps a little for those of you when doing the overwhelming task of registering!!
